Leyth’s and my first foray into professional recording. Named for the note generated by striking a support pillar in the old Allusion Studios, A Perfect E is an all acoustic, instrumental affair with just a little synth sweetening in spots, comprised mostly of material written and arranged over the previous 6 years. After suffering through cassette tape demo recordings for 6 years, it was indescribably rewarding and exciting to hear the ideas recorded and mixed properly on compact disc. From the grand scope of the opening track Suite E to the languid tranquility of closing song Twilight, it’s a 73 minute walk through lands known and unknown, a flirtation with both the dark and the light.
