Buoyed by the success of A Perfect E, in February of 1997 Leyth and I ventured back into Allusion Studios with both some unfinished business (3 songs written 9 years earlier and 4 songs written 4 years prior) as well as an impressive selection of brand new material. Notable for numerous changes in beat, scale and mood within the same song, Audio Fiction represented a high water mark in our careers and remains my second favorite of the recordings we’ve done as well as capturing my best rhythm guitar playing. From the opening title track with its myriad interweaving musical themes to the ironically titled closing track A Defining Moment, Audio Fiction weaves its spell with more maturity and confidence than ever.
